Logo designs for the teams of popular American sports such as Football, Basketball and Hockey all follow a recognisable style that incorporates a mascot illustration with strong type and vibrant colours. Over recent years the emergence of eSports has also resulted in this style being replicated for teams in the gaming industry. From thousands of logo designs for teams around the world, I’ve picked out the designers who have paid particular attention to detail by presenting their emblem designs as a complete brand identity across apparel, sports equipment and the team kit.
Not one mention of Fraser Davidson and/or Cub Studio? Pretty sure he’s the inspiration behind the style of 99% of these…
I’ve featured Fraser Davidson on my site before. A lot of his recent work is uploaded as GIFs or just the logo graphic which didn’t fit with the presentation style shown in this post. I definitely recommend checking out his Skillshare class on sports logos though!
You should do a tutorial for something like this Chris !
Any clue on what kind of fonts/font that most of those logos use? Looks really clean.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing Chris!
Thanks for featuring :)
Thanks very good
I’ve always thought that the Raider in the logo looked like John Wayne……..
Good stuff, but I 100% agree with Luc. Fraser Davidson’s work should be featured here. He’s an industry leader in this style.
Always relevant to me…thanks for showing me these works
Ey, Chris! Great complitation! Thanks for sharing. I’m from Argetina and we’re huge fans of soccer, you know. So I bring to you this account on Twitter about our teams and their respective insignia: https://twitter.com/NFLPARATODOS
I’ve to tell i’m not part of that, but i’m a passionate follower of design.
Have a nice day!
Great selection!
What do you call this type of illustration? I mean, is there a specific name for this kind of art so that I can research more later on?
Thank you in advance!
