Torn Paper Effect Photoshop Tutorial
In today’s Photoshop tutorial I’m going to show you how to create a series of surreal ripped paper collaging effects that give the appearance of an image being ripped away to reveal a different image underneath. We’ll use a variety of fundamental tools and techniques, such as layer masks and adjustment layers, which makes this tutorial perfect for Photoshop beginners.

After spending the past 15 years learning Photoshop, about a year ago, I got back in to painting and mixed media IRL. I just wanted to experiment and tried new things. It is so exhausting! LOL I have piles of paints and mediums of all kinds, paper/substrates, adhesives, and so much more! One is only limited by their imagination – and their pocketbooks!
Oh, and if I had a nickel for every time I tried to ‘delete’ a mistake, I’d be rich!

That’s great to hear Su, I bet it’s really satisfying creating art the ‘old fashioned’ way. I rely too much on Edit > Undo so I get too frustrated when I try to draw or paint anything ‘in real life’!
