35 Beautiful Examples of Vector & Vexel Art Portraits

Vector and Vexel Art are two techniques of creating highly realistic images using Photoshop or Illustrator. As the name suggests, Vector Art is built entirely of vector graphics whereas Vexel art is pixel based, but the process is very similar in that layers and layers are drawn to form the overall portrait. The more layers, the smoother and more realistic the final piece. This post showcases 35 outstanding examples of beautiful vector/vexel art portraits by a group of talented artists.

All examples are so realistic! Some of these examples even seem real, is amazing quality that have been made. I wonder how long it takes to make such artwork?

Although these vector drawings are extremely lifelike and show an extremely high level of technical expertise, I’m not sure that they actually involve that much creativity. Which is quite rare for a Spoon Graphics showcase.

Very cool. However, i do agree with most ppl here: some of these could be taken much further than just a vector representation of a photo.

I’m more familiar with bitmap work than vector art. These examples are quite interesting and inspiring. I’m only now getting into web design at a level that I guess one would describe as “beyond basic.” Recently I’ve worked on an escort design site for escort web design.
