We get to see some breathtaking cityscapes in the backgrounds of sci-fi movies and computer games, but browsing the work of concept artists who craft these scenes is a real inspiration boost. In today’s showcase I present 45 mind blowing 3D renders, illustrations, digital paintings and photo manipulations of futuristic cities, ranging from shiny chrome towers and flying vehicles to dark and dingy cyberpunk back alleys. Follow each piece through to the creator’s portfolio, where you’ll often find high resolution versions and examples of their other work.

  1. WORTH ENOUGH? BY RADOXIST , FAVELIZACAO BY ROSS DAMIEN JANEIRO I”m really thinking about their future! Maybe, a horrible destiny is waiting for us. :)

  2. amazing stuff.
reminds me of Clint Langley’s work in 2000ad for his American Reaper strip.
also some of the concept art from the Titanfall book.

would you try out a tutorial for this style Chris?

  3. Wow! Great futuristic ideas! And what more important – they not only share mind blowing concept art of futuristic cities, but very functional! I like them! I would love to make one in THE LOST CITY.

  4. NEO HONG KONG BY ZAKI ABDELMOUNIM is not a concept art, it’s a photograph of the actual city Hong Kong.

  5. anything that is ‘neo’ feels very cold and scary to me. anyways, i would like to thank you for the marvelous demonstration of what is coming.
