Posts from December, 2011
It’s that time of year when I reflect on another year’s worth of design tutorials here on Blog.SpoonGraphics and check over the stats to see which posts ended up proving the most popular. Here’s a roundup of the most popular tutorial posts from 2011 based on the number of StumbleUpon ‘thumbs up’ votes. If you compare them with last year’s figures you’ll see a dramatic decrease in the number of likes per post, but at least traffic figures are still going strong. I wonder if this suggests a decrease in the use of such social sharing sites?
The Art & Design Inspiration fix pulls together a collection of my favourite graphical images that I’ve come across over the past week to give you a fix of creative inspiration. This week we have designs from Ghostographic Rutil, Marcelo Schultz, Zach Shuta, Simon Alander and Mats Ottdal.
The post-processing stage of photography is definitely the most fun and creative. It’s where you can really transform your otherwise bland and boring photos into really intense images that draw in the viewer. In this tutorial we’ll cover the process of editing your landscape photos in Photoshop to give an epic, almost fantasy style appearance with bright colours, high contrast and lots of fine detail.
Some awesome goodies have been arranged for Access All Areas members by Vandelay Premier this week. Three lucky winners will receive an annual membership, allowing them access to all the high quality design resources in the Vandelay Premier library, including textures, icons and templates. But that’s not all! To avoid leaving anyone out, Steven from Vandelay Premier has kindly donated a fantastic Photoshop brush pack for every Access All Areas member to download and use in their design projects.
It’s now over four years since I posted my first set of vector snow flakes. I remember the original pack proving pretty useful for a bunch of designers so I thought I’d revisit the topic and produce another set of free snow flake vector graphics. Download this free vector pack of detailed snowflakes for use in your Winter designs. Once Winter is over you could even use them as deadly ninja death stars!
